Santander X Global Awards Winners Celebrated in Barcelona

The Santander X Global Awards 2025 ceremony took place in 4YFN, Barcelona, during the Mobile World Congress. It recognised the most promising university projects, start‑ups, scale‑ups and SMEs across eight countries. The competition brought together more than 5,000 participants, with 35 finalists advancing to the global stage after winning their respective national editions.

This year’s winners received a total of €88,000 in prize money and were welcomed into Santander X 100, the global community  with the Santander X most remarkable businesses that also provides access to unique benefits and services.

The Santander X Global Awards winners: 

University Category

  1. Huid (UK). Developing sustainable food packaging materials using polymers derived from onion skin, reducing plastic waste and promoting circularity.
  2. ParkinSense (UK). A mobile AI‑powered platform designed to detect early signs of Parkinson’s disease, improving diagnostic accuracy and enabling earlier intervention.
  3. Herelex (Argentina). A fast, accessible and affordable diagnostic kit for the early detection of tuberculosis, helping expand global healthcare coverage.

Start-up Category

  1. HexaBio (Mexico). A patented model that transforms plastic waste into protein using insects, tackling waste management and sustainable nutrition simultaneously.
  2. Pulpatronics (UK). Sustainable technological solutions that enhance and streamline inventory management.
  3. Boost (UK). Custom‑designed breast prostheses are created for women recovering from breast cancer.

Scale-up Category

  1. Arcadia Space (Spain). Developers of next‑generation, green‑fuel space engines for satellites, offering safer and more sustainable propulsion technologies.

SME Category

  1. Comunidad Feliz (Chile). A software platform that improves administration, safety and transparency in residential buildings and communities.
