The University of Leeds LSSI received funding from the ESRC Commercialising Research out of Social Sciences (CRoSS) scheme, to deliver activities relating to CRoSS. Leeds LSSI commissioned us to deliver a three session training programme, and to develop a resource & guidance document for academics going through the process of commercialising social science research.

The programme was delivered in five work packages:

  • WP1 Alignment and workshop design: Meeting with the university team and aligning goals.
  • WP2 Session 1: Introduction to pathways to commercialisation.
  • WP3 Session 2: Facilitating Lego workshops to identify opportunities.
  • WP4 Session 3: Actionable plans for research ideas.
  • WP5 Resource & guidance: Development of final resources for Social Sciences research.

Impact

The programme engaged academics and raised awareness of Social Sciences commercialisation, potentially leading to new income stream opportunities from research outcomes.
