We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our team. You will be instrumental in identifying needs in knowledge exchange and commercialisation for universities and research organisations in the UK and internationally, serving as a primary liaison between Oxentia and our client base. This role requires an experienced strategic and analytical thinker with a deep understanding of university and research organisation dynamics and the ability to scope and lead complex projects. Your mission will be to forge strong relationships with existing clients whilst building the profile of Oxentia with new organisations, understand their unique challenges, and deliver tailored strategies and solutions that promote innovation, commercialisation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities:
- Act as a primary point of contact for university and research organisation clients in the UK and internationally, establishing and nurturing strong professional relationships.
- Develop, lead and manage consultancy projects focused on innovation management, strategic planning, and transformation within the higher education sector, ensuring excellent outcomes for our clients.
- Collaborate with senior decision-makers and stakeholders in universities and research organisations to ensure the successful implementation of recommended strategies and initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth analyses to understand client institutions’ specific challenges, goals, and operational environments.
- Develop bespoke strategies and innovative solutions to enhance institutional performance, student engagement, and academic outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and seminars tailored to client needs, fostering a culture of innovation among faculty, staff, and leadership.
- Keep abreast of latest trends, technologies, and best practices in change management, knowledge exchange and commercialisation to provide informed advice and maintain thought leadership in the field.
- Support wider business development activities across the business by identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposals and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Strategic leadership role in university, research organisation or consultancy environment with a focus on commercialisation and impact.
- Demonstrated success in leading innovation projects and organisational change in universities/research organisations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the commercialisation landscape for universities and research organisations, including regulatory, technological, societal and competitive challenges.
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and stakeholders.
