An exciting opportunity to join a growing innovation consultancy that provides innovation management, commercialisation services, entrepreneurship support and training for global clients. This is a 12-month maternity cover role although there may be scope to extend subject to business needs.

Oxentia delivers services to a worldwide customer base of public and private sector clients in over 70 countries.
We are looking for a new Consultant to join our team, working to provide entrepreneurship and accelerator services to university, public, and private sector clients in the UK and around the world.
Working closely with project managers and reporting to the Head of Entrepreneurship, the Consultant will ensure that the entrepreneurship support and accelerator services provided by Oxentia are designed and delivered to the highest standard, adhering to international best practice.
Core activities will include:
Day-to-day implementation of entrepreneurship support and accelerator programmes, which includes:
- • Support with design and delivery of capacity building and training modules, ranging from basic business modelling to advanced investment readiness training
- • Support with design and management of entrepreneur mentoring programmes
- • Delivery of investor and partnership demo days
- • Monitoring of programme performance against KPIs
- • Reporting to clients
- • Business development activities in the entrepreneurship and innovation programmes sector where required
Successful consultant outputs:
- • Experience in managing training programmes, accelerator programmes, incubator programmes, or entrepreneurship support programmes, in an academic or private sector setting
- • Familiarity with basic entrepreneurial training tools, such as the Strategyzer toolkit
- • Familiarity with supporting entrepreneurs in developing pitch decks and communication skills
- • Creativity and curiosity to learn about new markets, technologies, and business models
- • A demonstrable interest in innovation and entrepreneurship, startups, investment, or new technology commercialisation
- • The ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels, from senior academics to CEOs of private companies and government representatives
- • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
- • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- • Excellent presentation skills
- • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- • Good organisation and time management skills
- • Self-motivated and ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks
- • Good attention to detail
- • Ability to use initiative and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- • Proven planning skills to enable delivery of tasks to required deadlines
Desirable skills:
- • Involvement and experience contributing to an internationally recognised entrepreneurship and innovation initiative, such as a startup incubator or accelerator programme
- • Working knowledge of a second language
- • Involvement in – or experience of - setting up or supporting the launch of a technology-based startup or spinout, including e.g. raising investment or bringing products to market
- • Experience from knowledge exchange and commercialisation, technology consulting, market research or a science-based industry

Salary for these positions is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of £40,000 – £46,000 (Consultant) for a full-time (12 months maternity cover) role. Benefits include private medical and travel insurance, and a generous pension scheme.
